Hello everyone! Hope your weekend is going well and for everyone that loves college basketball (*raises hand) we hope you are enjoying March Madness!
We wanted to start a new series here at the ‘ole hemp crate blog. This will be a quick-hitting, round-up style piece that will highlight the latest things in the CBD world that we think are interesting. We will share our take on the news, as well.
CVS enters the CBD space
CVS announced late this week that they were entering the CBD retail space in eight states: Alabama, California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland and Tennessee. Check out this video of Jim Cramer talking about the industry watershed moment. Needless to say he is buy, buy, buy!
Hemp Crate Take: This is just another step towards mass adoption. This is pretty significant news given the size of CVS, even if limited to eight states. This means 800+ stores will be selling CBD topical items very soon. “We are carrying hemp-derived CBD products in select states to help meet customer demand for alternative care options,” said CVS Health Spokesperson, Mike DeAngelis. This is the same reason Barney’s, Neiman Marcus, DSW and other retailers are getting into the space, as well.
Bottom line is people want their CBD. It is natural, non-addictive, and a way more responsible alternative to opioids. So the next time you go into CVS and get that 6-foot long receipt it may just have CBD products listed on it…or you could just have your CBD products delivered conveniently to your door. 🙂
Jelly Belly Founder creates CBD jelly beans
In case you missed it, David Klein, who founded Jelly Belly over four decades ago, has created a new company, Spectrum Confections, which focused solely on CBD jelly beans. They offer three different types: original, sugar-free, and sour. They come in 38 different flavors total. A little trip to their website shows they are currently sold out of everything. This quick video here as some more information on this exciting development in the edibles space;
Hemp Crate Take: Umm, how about yum for starters?! The demand for these types of products is clearly massive. There is a lot of movement in the edibles space which can be exciting but also concerning. It is important you are purchasing your CBD edibles through reputable brands that ensure independent 3rd party testing on their items.
There are so many different ways of getting your CBD. There are oils, flower, topicals, edibles and beverages and many other vehicles for consumption. Each of these methods has a different bioavalability and absorption rate so do your research to be educated on what you are taking. If you ever have any questions we are here for you at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can chat with us on our website. If you are interested in receiving 3rd party tested edibles & beverages, try our monthly Starter or Pro box.
